The Pre-Marriage Course

Welcome to The Pre-Marriage Course Online

The Pre-Marriage Course is a series of five sessions, designed for couples considering marriage and wishing to build a strong and lasting relationship. While based on Christian principles, it is relevant and helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background. The founders, Nicky and Sila Lee, have been married for over forty years and speak regularly on relationships and marriage preparation. They are co-authors of The Marriage Book. How does it work?

The course runs exactly as it would be if you were attending in person. If you are not in the same location, you can still do the course by having each ordered a journal, watching the film of the relevant session simultaneously and conducting your conversations when indicated.

• Each session lasts for 1 hour 45 minutes, half of which will be for your conversations.

• The films are available whenever and you will be given access as soon as you sign up.

• If you are in the same location, try to make it feel as special as possible. Don’t forget the candles, snacks, drinks, older kids in another room and the younger ones in bed.

When does it start?

You are able to join the course to start at any point, and the course will run for five consecutive weeks.

What happens when we sign up? 

Once you register, we will send you the link for you to connect to the online course.  

We will be running the course free of charge. The only cost you will incur is purchasing two course journals - you will need one each - and these can be bought from The Alpha Shop or Amazon.ca

The Couple Survey

We send all couples registered on the course a questionnaire called the Couple Survey. The Couple Survey is completed online. The questionnaire will help you identify and recognise topics to discuss as a couple prior to marriage. Following the course, we will send you an overview of your survey report, and if you request it, we will do our best to arrange for you to connect with a Support Couple online, via Skype, FaceTime or Zoom, to discuss the report and the relevant points raised. Since training is required to interpret the results, we will not pass a copy of the full report to you directly. We will email you details of the questionnaire around two weeks before the start of the course (if you register later than this, there will be a delay in receiving the survey).
