In Advent, we reflect on the Christian doctrine of hell because the JOY of Christmas only makes sense when we understand why, in fact, God had to come as one of us.

“See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me...he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears?”

Authentic Christian hope doesn’t look away at the darkness but faces it, trusting that God will make wrong things right.

Submit with every fibre of your being, and you will find eternal life.

God’s mercy is stronger than our weakness. God’s love is greater than our sin.

God has a vision for your life, and it only comes about if you are born again.

Life is full of choices. Some of our choices change the rest of our lives. The most important choice is whether or not you and I will follow Jesus.

We need Jesus because the seeds of the most terrible evil live in every human heart

Let us reflect upon these themes amid the Covid19 pandemic.

Real forgiveness involves the honesty and integrity of repentance.
